Kirk Mettler serves as Chief Data Scientist at IBM, where he leads a team dedicated to building and deploying impactful solutions that enhance client performance across the full spectrum of data science and artificial intelligence. His work encompasses advanced forecasting, machine learning, AI, natural language processing, foundational models, and optimization techniques. Before joining IBM, Kirk was a serial entrepreneur who co-founded and helped build several innovative startups including Scry Health, Floop, Bigcomputing, and Revolution Analytics. During that period, he also worked for DataCamp to support its effort to help develop more Data Scientists. His diverse background includes operational experience running a printed circuit board manufacturing company, giving him a unique perspective that bridges hands-on manufacturing expertise with technology leadership. This combination of entrepreneurial vision, technical depth, and practical business acumen has shaped his approach to delivering transformative AI solutions at scale to production.
