Bio:

Akshata is currently working as a Lead & Data Scientist at Microsoft. He has more than 13 years of experience in predictive modeling, Explainable AI, Interpretable Machine Learning, Natural Language processing, Prognostic & Health Management of aircraft and data mining algorithms to solve challenging business problems across Retail, aviation, education, and transportation industries and climate change.

Akshata has granted 7 US patents and one trade secret in the field of interpretable and interactive machine learning and AI. He has served as an Adjunct Faculty at University of Maryland Baltimore County, teaching Platforms for Big Data Processing. Most notably, he has presented several technical papers and his co-authored publications spanned across a variety of applications which can be categorized into three main research themes – Prognostic & Health Management of Aircrafts, Human interpretable ML and Explainable AI. Akshata also co-authored five papers in Premier Machine Learning Conferences and Workshops such as WIML (Women in Machine Learning), AMSTAT (Women in Statistics and Data Science) and IEEE. 

As a socially conscious person, Akshata has volunteered and mentored orphan students at an NGO and taught STEM courses to high school girls at a Children’s Home for the underprivileged.
